That moment when you realize...

That you have less than a hand's worth of days left (don't look at me that way we all know I always count down to special events with hands and feet!!) until you don't have to do anything you don't want you because you are on vacation.

On Friday around 3 am I will be leaving my little Red Deer Condo and heading to the the Edmonton Air port for my flight to Vancouver and then Whitehorse Yukon!!!! Where cell phone and Internet connections are completely sketchy and Michael has a completely surprise vacation planned for me. So with that said I cannot promise any posts or pictures until after I return. But I am pretty sure I will have a lot to say upon my return.

Cheers!!!

Once a Ballerina Always a Ballerina

It only took me 2 months in Red Deer to find a ballet school and register for a ballet class. I am so excited to get back in studio I couldn't even wait a day to buy new ballet slippers. I have less than one month until I am back to my regular ballet studio every week self and even though the best class I could find is very "This is First Position" I cannot wait to be back in the studio.

Cheers!

PS. Isa hurry and find a studio so we can all be back in the studio "together" at a distance

I was RAK'ed!!!!

This morning while picking up my morning coffee at a local Tim's I was RAK'ed! Can you believe it?? Now many of you may be thinking  what is she talking about? Well RAK stands for Random Act of Kindness, it's spreading positivity and generosity through small unexpected gestures for strangers. So what happened to me was the woman in the car in front of me at the drive through paid for my coffee, which brightened up my day immensely making me for confident in the universe and in a positive state of mind for court. Now I would like to spread the love by encouraging everyone to RAK once tomorrow like I plan on doing.

Cheers!

There are places I remember....

ALL MY LIFE!!!

A few weeks ago my high school class had their 10 year reunion, which was something I was really looking forward to heading home for. Well as everyone knows I didn't head home earlier this month because work has been a little off the wall crazy and with my transfer to a new office I was bottom of the totem poll for vacation picking and I was never going to get the most popular week of the year off (August Long weekend). But after looking over the photos that have been posted on Facebook I am a little sad I didn't make the trip. My graduating class (Moncton High School 2002) was over 300 students and it looked like maybe 10% showed up, I'll be it th 10% of people I would have loved to have seen again because some I haven't seen since graduation in '02 and a few more went on to University with me and I haven't seen since Convocation in '06. Plus the post reunion gathering looked like a pretty good time.

This is completely different than what I expected it to be. I was thinking it would be a whole lot of "look at my successes" "I am awesomeness" moments mixed with reunification of old high school cliques. But it doesn't look like that was the case, which proves once and for all that Moncton High is the best school, and the class of '02 was as amazing as I always prop us up to be. I loved my high school and so much of the high school experience. Yes I did eat lunch every day for 2 years in either the art studio or a lab doing homework because I was too busy rehearsing at the ballet studio to take that hour to hang out in student parking or jaunt down to main street. I wasn't crazy popular... actually I am shocked when people recognize me from high school and I have no clue who they are. Anyway.... I would like to take this time to pay homage to my class.

Our Class Song:

School Cheer:
Moncton High School RIP RIP RIP
Moncton High School RIP RIP RIP
Purple and White Purple and White
Rickety Rackety It's all Right
Shout it out with all your might
M-O-N-C-T-O-N
MONCTON!
School Song:

Stand up and cheer for Old Moncton High
Ring out her name right up to the Sky
Play the game and then you'll see
That is the road to victory

When'ere your see our purple and white
You can be sure that we're out to fight
For the school that we love best
So cheer loud for victory

In our short time we try hard to keep
Our old school spirit that's grown so deep
With the grads of former years
For alma mater give three cheers
Rah Rah Rah

Old Moncton High will win o're em all
Come Moncton High and answer the call
We will try to lead the rest
So cheer loud for victory

Motto:
We Seek Wider Horizons

Wasn't I lucky to have attended such a beautiful school?

Cheers!

Your going where????

I love everything about traveling! I love the planning, the dreaming, the goal setting, the budgeting, I LIVE for the Facebook countdown of how many day left until departure, there is absolutely nothing about leaving home and seeing the world.

There are a million and one places I am dying to visit and now that I have made the crazy choice to "go west young (wo)man" I am finally in a place where I can hop a plane and finally make my long list into a short list! And with my 3+ weeks vacation a year I will always spend 1 on the east coast leaving at least 2 more to venture the world.

I have been talking for years about traveling the world and here are probably my top 5 Destinations!

5. Las Vegas

&
4. Paris and Bourdeaux.... to do nothing but Drink Wine!

3. London, England for a Coldplay Concert

2. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for Carnival

1. Trek to Machu Picchu, Pero

So where I am headed this year for my vacation???

I'll let you try and guess....

here is a picture....

Where I am I headed in 19 days??
Cheers!!!

Look! What's that black cloud over there???? Oh it must be Monday

Growing up in Atlantic Canada I have seen my fair share of storms and extreme weather, so much so that the words "STORM SURGE"

"HURRICANE"

and "NOR EASTER"

are just part of the every day forecast.

Thanks for all the love Cindy Day, we Maritimers really love our ridiculous weather options

And because of all this crazy weather people who don't live in the maritimes think we look like this:

But I think we all know for the most part we are far to fabulous for that!! Right?!?

I have been in Central Alberta for about 2 months now and one thing I have noticed is they have wicked thunderstroms here at least once a week.... actually more like once a day sometimes more! I have been woken up or fallen asleep to this

Every night for the last week... and have been chased home by the storm after work almost daily! Needless to say my weariness around thunderstorms is fading quickly!

Cheers
