So we all know that I love movies that are also books...
Only the first one though the rest made me die a little inside every time...
First question I ask when I am making a new friendship "How big of an issue is it going to be that I love Harry Potter???"
Epic! Full Stop
Can it be December 14th RIGHT NOW!?!?!?!?
And as much as I love seeing books turned into movies, I cannot enter the theater until I have read the book cover to cover. Otherwise I will never finish the books. Which leads me to my what I have been doing for the last week... JUMPING ON THE HUNGER GAMES BANDWAGON!
I LOVE these books. Finally a good role model for young girls who isn't so obsessed with a boy that she would die if he wasn't there. A young woman who actually would consider living her life alone and be okay with that. She does what is right and that road isn't always easy. These are the books I would like all the little girls I love dearly to read and learn from. Yes it is a little on the bloody mess side of things, but the over all message is amazing: "You don't need a boy to get you out of trouble you can do it on your own". And let's face it which of these girls do you want your daughter to grow up to be??
Bella??
Or
Katniss
The movie is "true to the book" but as usual there were several missing pieces that although not completely essential I felt added to the plot and was disappointed in them not being there. But in saying that I saw it twice in 6 days.
I really don't want to spoil it for you so go out, get these books, give them to your daughters, read them together... better yet have their father read the books with them the theater was mostly 12-14 year old girls with their fathers when I went the first time. Then go see them movie. I killed on in a day and a half, they are an intense read that you cannot put down until you have finished.
So go out there "And may the odds be ever in your favor"
Cheers!
