Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

I just wanted to send out a Merry Chirstmas to everyone back home. It was wonderful to have a chance to speak with my family yesterday, I didn't realize how comforting it would be to hear everyone's voices. I honestly cannot wait to get home in the spring and wrap my arms aorund you all.

I also wanted to send a huge thank you to my Christmas family for welcoming me into their home and helping me feel less home sick this holiday season.

Just a side note (100% Hockey stuff you have been Warned)

Ok so as we all know... or at least I certainly know Crosby is again off the ice for a bit :( good thing I can't get East Coast games until January when I am in Edmonton again and hopefully he will be back on his feet. But I would just like to share with the world a little piece of why I am on team Crosby and not team Ovechkin.... Other than the fact that he is Captain Canada (I yes I do tend be slightly pro Canadian boys) but the fact that he is averaging 1.5 points a game and has 12 points in 8 games where as Ovie is only averaging .72 points a game and 21 points in 29 games should start to put an end to the debate of who is better at Canada's game.  Anyway have I said my piece and now I can post some more pictures

Totally creeped those 3 from Jane (thanks Lady!)

I really need to get my hands on some East coast games... Now I read the live blog and search pictures not nearly as much fun as the real thing...
Cheers!

Already Heading Back East

So I am sorry to disappoint anyone but I am not headed way back east, but I did spend my weekend with my Christmas Season Family in Saskatchewan. Their beautiful 3 week old baby girl was playing Jesus in the Christmas play and well considering I still hadn't made the trip to see her yet I thought this was the perfect excuse! I had a wonderful time and I cannot wait to spend the holiday season with them, even though I will miss my family dearly I am forever thankful for them opening up their home to me.

Now on to what went on the rest of the week. I spent all week in Edmonton which was I must say a very good time. I used to hate training and now I realize we just weren't doing it right back home. The training was actually very interesting and challenging, the hotel was beyond awesome (see pictures of lobby bellow I'll snap some of my room when I'm back in January), the people were beyond amazing and well let's face it I wasn't in Nowhere Alberta, I was in the city and considering the HUGE amount of culture shock I seem to have that part really helped get me through the week.

Lobby Tree

Found Pump House 5000 km away from home (YAY!)

Lessons of the Week:

Never drive in the dark if when you come across a Deer Warning sign with a Live Deer hanging out underneath of it

Blues on Whyte; Although it has very good music is TERRIFYING (Always bring a buddy to the bathroom)

No matter where you go as a Maritimer you will only attract other Maritimers (which is awesome because we are a pretty kick-a** group of Canadians)

Never argue with a Newfy... You will loose

and last but not least.... You know you are loved when I friend offers you endless hot beverages so you wont leave and texts to ensure your safety when you arrive home (xoxo my darling!).

Cheers!

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

December 1st has come and gone, and anyone who knows me knows that this is Christmas Tree time!! Usually I have the tree up for the Santa Clause Parade, but with moving and starting my career (FINALLY!) I haven't had much time to actually get the tree up... That is until this weekend! It is now Christmas Central here and I am very excited to say that "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Everywhere you go" :) The crazy snow and wind storm this week also added to the feeling that winter is here so stay inside and drink Egg Nog. Note to self pick up Rum

Christmas Wreath in the Kitchen

 My Tree :)

The rest of the living room.., yes we love Christmas enough to have 2 trees!

Some home made ornaments
Crosby and Moose on the DVD Player

So I have been living in my little town now for just over a week and I am already headed back to the city. I am actually in Edmonton almost every other week until spring so I am actually going to be spending just as much if not more time there than I am in my new home. This is why it was so crucial  that I spend this weekend setting up my space and putting everything that is not needed in boxes for storage. Which was a good thing because it was apparently treacherous outside due to snow and wind...  It looked like a regular December day to a Maritimer like me, but I guess it was a bad one out there to the locals.
Yup, this is the kind of snow that freaks people out here...

And as  promised here are some progress pictures of my room :) I still need to pick up my vanity and a few other odds and ends when I am in Edmonton in January, but this is it so far...

Relaxation Time!

Where I get ready in the am for now

My Attempt at decorating my bedroom for Christmas

For someone terrified of Birds I sure have a lot where I sleep
